"Having had the privilege and joy of making music with Brien Stait, I will always look forward to playing with him. In an astonishingly short time he can get the most admirably accurate and joyful music out of any orchestra he happens to be working with and in addition to this he has the most remarkable gift for communicating with the young. Under his leadership young people can produce memorable music with confidence and élan." (Hephzibah Menuhin)
