Jana Haycroft
For the past 18 years, I have been a student and a collegue of Kate Elmitt and have played in many of her concerts as well as with the Letchworth Symphony Orchestra.
I studied piano at a Music School in Myjava, Slovakia, from the age of four. The subjects included Piano lessons, History of music, Composition and Theory lessons and included regular public performances.
I attended a one year course including a week at Durham University, Understanding Music Elements, Techniques and Styles.
I attended a two year course at North Hertfordshire College specialising in Music (Piano). I provided accompaniment and performed at most of the productions.
I am also a regular participant at the Chetham's International Summer School for Pianists in Manchester.
I teach two days a week at St Joseph's In the Park School in Hertingfordbury.
'What students say about me:
It has been 4 years now since we met you. Since then you have managed to bring Lea. to an amazing level of competence. She has played in concerts, went into her first competition and passed her exam. Time with you has always been relaxed with a lot of respect and patience to Lea. At the same time you were always professional in insisting on quality of the sound, and the theory behind it. We will miss your lessons and your teaching.

Anna has so enjoyed her lessons and you have given her so much confidence and encouragement in music. She certainly would not be so at ease with musical notation which has helped her with the Choir and in her school music lessons.

Currently, I have fifteen students aged between 6 and 11 who are studying towards ABRSM exams. I also offer general support and help with concerts and end of year competitions.
